On April 23, we will convene educators, researchers, and industry partners for the Skilling, Upskilling, and Reskilling in the Age of AI Symposium at the Global Learning Center. Together, we will examine how AI is redefining learning and workforce development and what it will take to prepare learners for continuous change.

“As AI-driven change accelerates across every sector, learning must keep pace,” said Dean Bill Gaudelli. “At Georgia Tech, we are building the systems that will define how people learn, reskill, and advance across their lives. We’re proud to bring these leaders together and move from insight to action: to shape this new reality, not just accept it.”

Microsoft Americas Chief Learning Officer Magdy Karam will deliver the keynote on what it means to become a “frontier firm.”

“The organizations that lead the next decade are being built today by fusing human ambition with AI to unlock exponential growth and innovation,” he said. Drawing on Microsoft’s experience, he will discuss leadership’s role in preparing the workforce and share strategies for embedding AI into talent development and fostering continuous learning.

The program features an AI ALOE–developed data architecture that enables researchers and educators to analyze learner interactions with AI systems and connect them to learning outcomes. Attendees will also receive updates on AI’s role across research, teaching, and institutional applications at Georgia Tech.

The symposium also showcases the impact of the College's philanthropy by featuring the 2025 Bill Kent Family Foundation AI in Higher Education Faculty Fellows.

“Our inaugural cohort has developed human-centered, context-aware learning scaffolds that cut across the Institute’s broad learning domains,” said Eric Sembrat, Director of Digital Learning Technologies at C21U. “These projects offer learners practical, forward-looking tools to deepen their coursework and study practices. I’m excited to hear the Fellows share their work.”
